About African Women's condition (2) : the case of Uganda

テキストに指定している本を参加者とともに輪読し、ウガンダの女性の処遇について、歴史的文脈のなかで現在の状況を理解できるようにし、また自らの問題意識をひきだせるようにする。

Through reading the text book together with participants, students should try to understand the social, cultural and economic condition for the women in Eastern African countries. And then each student should get at least a point of view of their own to engage with African Studies.

ウガンダはイギリスの植民地化を経験し独立したのちも、くりかえされる軍事クーデターを経験した。その歴史のなかで、女性たちの処遇はいかに変化してきたか。テキストを中心に購読し、ひとつのケースとして理解を深める。

Uganda experienced Military coup several times even after independence from Britain. Through such a history, how the women’s conditions are changing? We try to learn and study the case of Uganda.
