主に中国、モンゴル国、ロシアの三つ国にわたって広範囲に分布するモンゴル諸語について、英語で書かれた文法を解読し、モンゴル諸語の様々な文法的な特徴を掴み、自分の視野を広げるとともに、各自の研究対象言語を掘り下げるのに役立てる

The Mongolic languages are spoken across a wide area in China, Mongolia and Russia. In this seminar we will read a grammar book of the Mongolic languages written in English and survey the various grammatical characteristics of Mongolic languages. The goal of this seminar is to broaden your own view and deepen your understanding of the target language of each person.

英語で書かれた文法書を輪読形式で訳読し、問題点や疑問が残る記述について論じ合ったりする。また、必要に応じて追加の資料を持ち込み、議論になり得る文法現象の補足説明を行う。

We will take turs reading a grammar written in English and discuss controversial or questionable problems. I will bring additional materials if necessary and give a supplementary explanation of grammatical phenomena.

Juha Janhunenが編集したThe Mongolic Languages(2003)という本の中から、第十五章、第十六章、第十七章、第二十章を選び講読し、モンゴル諸語とモンゴル語の諸方言について議論する。

We will read Chapter 15, chapter 16, chapter 17 and chapter 20 of "The Mongolic Languages" (2003), edited by Juha Janhunen and discuss the Mongolic languages and Mongolian dialects.
