第二言語習得、外国語教育にかかわる研究課題について修士論文または修士研究を執筆する。

To deepen knowledge in Applied Linguistics, especially in second language acquisition and foreign language teaching. To develop reading and analytic skills of research in the field. To conduct original research and write an MA thesis.

第二言語習得、外国語教育、あるいはその周辺分野のテーマについて受講生各々が研究計画をたて、論文執筆を行う。

Students will conduct research and complete a Master's thesis in the area of additional language learning and/or teaching.

研究計画をたて、リサーチ・クエスチョンを決定する→ 先行研究のリビューをおこなう→調査または実験等を実施する→結果を分析・考察する この一連の研究活動の中で、随時経過報告および議論を行っていく。夏休み前後、および冬休み前にドラフト1,2,3をそれぞれ提出してもらう。

Students will review previous studies related to their research topic, and plan and conduct their original research. In class, students will be required to report on the progress of their studies every week. Class discussion will be held to consider how the study may be improved.
The rough annual schedule for finishing the thesis is as follows:
end of May -- complete research plan beginning of September -- submit first draft end of November -- submit second draft beginning of January -- submit thesis beginning of February -- report research achievements and peer review

研究論文執筆経過および最終的に提出される修士論文または修士研究の内容により評価する。
|

|
Weekly report of progress and active participation in class discussion (30%), thesis drafts (20%), final version of thesis (50%).
|
|
|
毎回、研究の進捗状況を報告し、内容について議論するので、事前準備をしっかり行うこと。
|
|
|
Students must be ready to report on their progress every week.
|
|
|
研究計画や執筆中の研究活動についても評価の対象とする。
