１．英語圏を対象とした修士論文を作成する予定の学生がそれぞれの研究計画を呈示し、それにもとづいた研究を進めることを目標とします。
２．研究の各段階ごとに進展の度合いを明示できるようにすることを中間目標とします。
３．修士論文の作成が最終目標となります。

The aim of this course is to help students who are interested in the broad areas of cultural phenomena in the English-speaking world launch the process of researching and writing and complete their master's theses.
|
|
|
|
博士前期課程に在学し、英語圏文化研究・文学研究の分野で修士論文を作成しようとする者を対象とし、授業のはじめに提出した研究計画に則して、各自の修士論文の全体像を明確化してゆきます。
|
|
|
Students are required to deliver well-prepared and effective presentations.
|
|
|
|
|
|
１．修士論文を作成するための具体的な時間配分などを含め，大学院における研究の目的，大学院が果たすべき社会的役割など、多岐にわたる問題を考察します。卒業論文の段階ですでに身についている、論文作成のための基本的知識（論文の基本的要件，調査方法，客観的記述の徹底）を再確認します。
２．大学院レヴェルの論文を書くために必要な理論的基盤を構築することをめざします。個別の研究対象以外にも広汎な領域にわたって必要不可欠とされる参考文献をなるべく多く精読します。
３．論文の主題となっているものにかんして網羅的な知識を獲得し、当該分野においてこれまでなされてきた研究および議論の総体を把握するよう努めます。そのうえで、最新の研究方法の応用などを含め、自己の論文に真の意味での独自性を与えるため、いったいなにが必要なのかを検討してゆきます。

第１０回 論文第５章の検討。
第１１回 論文結論の検討。

受講者による研究発表を判断材料とし、発言内容が、先行研究の調査・分析をじゅうぶんに踏まえたものであるかどうか、時間を無駄にすることなく参考文献を渉猟しているかどうか、視点や考えかたはすぐれたものであるかどうか、論文執筆が計画どおりに進行しているかどうかなど、総合的に評価を加えます。

Grades will be based on preparation before class (20%), insightful presentation (30%), and the written work (50%).
|
|
|

|
Habitual perusal of the assigned work is essential. Also, the importance of the note-taking must not be neglected.
|
|
|
|
受講者による発表を中心とした授業であるため、予定していたとおりの準備がなされていない場合は、その次の回にもちこされることになります。スムーズな進行のためには各受講者の努力が必要です。

|
Highly recommended are:
1. several different types of dictionaries
2. a step-by-step training in logical thinking
3. the accumulation of theoretical or practical knowledge.
