PCS Global Campus Program (Advanced)

The aim of this program is to link classrooms through interaction among nine member universities who are specialized in Peace and Conflict Studies, to share the lectures of prominent scholars and practitioners, and facilitate dialogue, presentation and discussion among the lecturers and students online.

Nine member universities (Afghanistan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Sri Lanka, India-Mumbai, India-Kashmir, Pakistan-Kashmir, Pakistan-Islamabad) will jointly implement a core curriculum which is conducted via a videoconferencing system.

Online class, Peace & Conflict Studies
|
|
|
|
This course is an advanced course in which students deeply explore the nature of conflict and foundation of peace. Through case studies of the nine member countries/areas, students will be able to understand the conflict background of each societies and the cause of conflict, such as territory, natural resource and religion and so on. This time, under the professors of member universities, students will form a multi-national research team (i.e. a team consisting of 5 students with 5 different nationalities). After having Peace and Conflict Studies Theory sessions via multilateral connection, each team proceeds its own case research based on the common themes preliminarily set. At the end of the course, the research outcome of each team is presented to other teams as well as compiled into the joint research paper. The course will be implemented in the following format.

Assignment 60% and Course work 40% Certificates will be provided but they are dependent on the completion of the course by students.

Implementation plan of this program is to be developed in consultation among the member universities. Detailed curriculum shall be further worked out and will be communicated to students well in advance. Students applying for this course should have a prior knowledge of PCS.
