The course follows a TOEFL self-study text. It has two parts. Part 1, 1st practice test, is covered during the spring term, with additional supplementary material focusing on vocabulary. This course is not a TOEFL course, but uses a self-study TOEFL textbook as a convenient way to build competence in academic English. The TOEFL test is split into reading, listening, speaking and writing. We follow the book through two semesters, focusing particularly on reading, listening and speaking. It contains two practice tests. We cover the 1st in term one, and the 2nd in term two. Supplementary support concerning academic vocabulary building and speaking practice is also provided.
