The objective for this course is for students to learn the basic principles of academic writing in English including proper, clear organization and the four bases of good writing, which are Unity, Coherence, Sentence skills, and Support.

This class is taught as a combination of class lecture and student homework consisting mainly of activities designed to develop specific writing skills. Students will write two homework essays during the semester.

Essay, thesis statement, topic sentence, transition signals, support, coherence, unity.
|
|
|

|
|
|
Grades will be based on the two essays. Assessment is on use of the four bases of good academic writing.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Homework will be assigned almost every week.
