Seminar on English Presentation and Research Skills

Upon completion of this course, students will: (1) have a better understanding of the skills and practices needed to successfully complete a graduate degree; (2) improved their English language presentation skills both oral and written; (3) gained confidence in responding to peers academic work.
|
|
|
|
The purpose of this course is to help students' acquire the necessary English reading, writing, and speaking skills to participate in academic discussions. In order to do this, this course will be run as a seminar. Students will have many opportunities to read, present, and respond to one another in English. In addition, we will also spend considerable time exploring how research projects are proposed and the results of those projects expressed.

Students should complete all readings and assignments prior to the start of each class.

In order to be successful, this course depends upon the informed participation of each individual. Unexcused absences and coming to class unprepared will affect your grades severely and negatively.
