The goal of this course is to help graduate students gain experience in writing academic papers and giving oral presentations in English. Students will learn how to breakdown the different components of a research paper, summarize the main points of the paper in a presentation, and effectively integrate software tools such as Excel and PowerPoint into their presentation.

This course introduces the topic of oral presentation and academic writing at the graduate level by providing an overview of important components of a research paper such as the title, abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion, conclusion, and references. Students are required to search for a research paper in their field, summarize the main points of the paper, and report their findings in an oral presentation towards the end of the course.
