日本語能力の評価は、テストをはじめ、複数の手法を用いて行うことが可能です。本講義では、言語知識及び言語能力について概観し、テストにおける良問作成のために必要な理論と技能を獲得することをねらいとします。また、最近のスタンダードにおけるテスティングの役割についても考察します。テスト作成の演習とディスカッションを通して、評価に対する理解を深めます。

This course is intended for two groups of students, ones in introductory language testing and language teachers who need to create tests for themselves or their schools or program. The students will deepen their knowledge of how to plan, write, and administer tests. Emphases are on development of basic practice of language assessment, which help educators make more effective use of evaluation, assessment, and testing procedures in the Japanese language classroom. It is also provided a conceptual overview of how to score and analyze test results, as well as an overview of test validation procedures. The course involves a better understanding of the qualities of good assessment and of processes and techniques for improving testing. A practical and widely applicable approach to building quality assessments for use in the classroom or in testing programs is also introduced.
