歴史学の手法により日本の歴史を研究するために必要な基礎的な知識や方法論、さらに研究動向を学ぶことを目的とする。そのために、近年の学術的成果を反映し、かつ一般向けに読みやすく書かれている小冊子『日本史リブレット』『世界史リブレット』シリーズを読み進める。

The object of this course is to acquire the knowledge and method for research on Japanese history, and to understand research trend. Students will read a series of 『日本史リブレット』 (Nihon-shi libretto) or 『世界史リブレット』 (Sekai-shi libretto) as textbooks which contains latest result of research.

『日本史リブレット』『世界史リブレット』シリーズ（山川出版社）から、参加者が自らの関心に合せて１冊ずつテキストを選び報告をする。それに対する質疑応答を行いながら、内容の細く説明や論点、研究方法の指導を行う。
|
|
|
Students will choose one text from a series of 『日本史リブレット』 (Nihon-shi libretto) or 『世界史リブレット』 (Sekai-shi libretto) and make a report of it. After discussions in class, they will be advised about setting a point at issues and method for their research.

参加者が、自分の関心にあわせて、テキストとなる『日本史リブレット』シリーズの中から1冊をとりあげて下記の要領で報告する。テキストは用語説明・読み方の振り仮名も付いた小冊子であるためたいへん読みやすいが、自らの関心で、より深く勉強するために、下記の内容を含んだ報告をレジュメを作って行うこと。
［報告の必要事項］ １．テキストの内容要約。
２．史料用語や事項の説明。
３．テキストに対する疑問点・問題点の提示。
４．テキストの内容に関連する論点１つの提示。
５．史料や参照文献から論点について調べて報告する。
『日本史リブレット』『世界史リブレット』（山川出版社）2001年〜刊行中
アクティブラーニングは、伝統的町並みの実地研修や古文書調査により実施する。

"Students will choose one text from a series of 『日本史リブレット』 (Nihon-shi libretto) or 『世界史リブレット』 (Sekai-shi libretto). This libretto is very easy to read, therefore, students are expected to make a repot of it for further study, containing following items ;
[necessary items]
1. Summary of the text
2. Discription of terms
3. Questions in the text
4. Showing point at issue related to the text
5. Showing your opinion referring necessary documents or materials
As Active Learning, we plan to hold off-campus research to study Japanese traditional streetscape and to conduct investigations of historical documents."
