中台関係は現象面で見るとわかりにくいが,中台それぞれの内部の論理をつかめば全体の動きが把握できるようになる。中国の政治体制の発展,台湾の政治体制の発展という視点から見ることも必要になる。講義と文献講読を通じて,中台関係の理解を深めていきたい。

The relations between China and Taiwan looks complicated on the surface, but we can get the picture of their movements by understanding the inner logic of China and Taiwan respectively. We also have to view them in light of the development of each country's political regime.
We will develop the understanding of China-Taiwan relations through lectures and reading literature.

前半で,中国と台湾のそれぞれの政治体制を踏まえ中台関係の歴史を解説し,中台の歴代政権の対台湾政策,対中政策の特徴を説明する。後半は,中台関係に関する日本語論文,中国語論文,英語論文を講読する。

In the first half of the quarter, give lectures on the history of China-Taiwan relations based on each political regime, and the characteristics of policies toward China or Taiwan taken by the historical governments of each country.
In the latter half, read papers in Japanese, Chinese, and English on China-Taiwan relations.
