Cognitive linguistics and linguistic structures
 
授業の目標   
１．人間の言語知識はどのようなものであるかについて考察を行う。
２．言語を分析する上で必要となる基礎概念と分析手法を身につける。
３．身につけた知識や手法を用いて、実際に、言語の形式や意味の分析を行う。
 
Goals of the course   
The goals of this course are:
1. to learn how linguistic knowledge is represented in the mind in terms of cognitive linguistics.
2. to learn practical skills to carry out linguistic research.
3. to carry out linguistic research on form and meaning.
 
授業の概要   
認知言語学の観点から言語知識がどのように構築されているかを概観する。また英語等の興味深い言語現象について学んでいく。授業では、担当者が内容を要約した後、全員で内容に関する討論を行う。学期末には具体的な構文に関するレポートを作成する。

This course is designed to read academic texts and discuss various linguistic phenomena in English.

文法論、形態論、意味論、語用論に関する知識が前提となるので、学習経験がない分野に関しては、概説書を読んでおくこと。
