言語教育を目的とし，独自に構築した大規模コーパスを題材として，コーパス利用の実際を理解するとともに，独自コーパスを用いた研究とその成果を言語情報学関連分野の国際学会への投稿を行うことを目標とする。

独自に構築した大規模日本語話し言葉コーパスである地デジ字幕コーパス及び教科書コーパスを素材として，実際の研究を遂行するという立場から，日本語話し言葉コーパス及び教科書コーパスの構築，分析，研究，教材開発の観点で情報学をどのように用いるのかを理解する。
本学で独自に構築している教科書コーパスは，主として高校教科書を中心として，指導書及びDVDに収められた314冊，7000万語からなる大規模コーパスであり，アカデミックジャパニーズ研究の基盤となるものである。
また，現在も拡充中の大規模日本語話し言葉コーパスは，東京地上デジタル局7局の字幕付き全放送から取り出し，処理を行って構築した本来的な意味での大規模日本語話し言葉コーパスである。2014年2月末現在で2億語規模であり，1日50万語が新たに増えている。
この教科書と字幕の大規模コーパスを利用することによって，従来不可能であった多くの言語学，応用言語学分野での研究が可能となるだけではなく，革新的な日本語教材の開発も期待できる。
また，この授業では，独自コーパスを用いて，各自，自分の研究テーマに沿った国際学会への投稿を行うことを目的とする。授業は，各自が国際学会への投稿を行うため，主要な先行研究を読むことからはじめる。そのため，研究テーマに直接関係する少なくとも三つ以上の先行研究論文をまとめ，発表する。
対象とする国際学会は，EuroCall，Edmedia，e-Learn，SITEなどの情報学，教育工学関連学会，アメリカ応用言語学会(AAAL)，アメリカ言語学会(LSA)などを想定しているが，これらの学会以外にInternational Pragmatic Conferenceなどの国際学会を対象としても良い。
この授業の受講生は，少なくとも一つ以上の国際学会への投稿を行う。

Using the large-scale Japanese spoken language Corpus uniquely built in TUFS, understand how information science is utilized in building the Corpus, studying linguistics/applied linguistics, and developing Japanese educational materials.
Also, students will do research using the Corpus, and send the results to at least one international institute among EuroCall，Edmedia，e-Learn，SITE, AAAL, LSA, etc. To do this, students start by reading major previous studies, and summarize at least three previous studies related to their research themes in a report, and make presentation.
