Fundamentals of Japanese Contrastive Linguisitics II

言語は様々なレベルでの単位が相互に連携し，全体としてなりたつシステムであり，音声のみ，統語のみ，といった偏った知識によっていては言語同士の比較対照を行うことは難しい。
本講では日本語との対照研究の事例として東アジアあるいは東南アジア諸言語のいくつかを取り上げ，その音声，音韻，形態，統語，意味といった研究の各分野での基本的な知識を習得しつつ，日本語との対照を試みる。対照研究の事例検討のために，前期の日本語研究と併せて受講することが望ましいが，中国語やタイ語についての専門的知識は特に必要としない。

Language is a holistic system where units on various levels interact, such as those in phonological, morphosyntactic, semantic and pragmatics. In comparing two languages, therefore, simple comparison of a morpheme in one language with that of the other would not always work. In a view to contrastive study of Japanese and Thai, we will survey outlines of Thai language. We will start from examining phonetic, phonological, morphosyntactic and semantic characteristics of Thai. Then we consider these features from typological perspecties. Students are expected to take both preceding Japanese and Thai courses; having preliminary knowledge of Thai is desirable but not required.

中国語あるいはタイ語など東南アジア諸言語の音声・音韻，形態，統語，意味論に関する参考文献（各分野における研究の現状が分かる短い論文を選択する）を受講者に割り当て，その内容についてまとめ，発表してもらい，さらにそれに基づいて討論する。

Each student will be assigned to have a presentation summarizing papers on phonetics, phonology, morphosyntax, semantics and pragmatics in Thai, upon which students will make discussions to deepen the knowledge of linguistic characteristics of Thai.

The degree of commitment will be evaluated on occasions of presentation, giving comments, and discussions.
Students are requested to submit occational papers and a term paper concerning particular phase of Asian language, such as morphosyntax, or semantics.

指定のテキストを予め読み，質問や議論ができるように準備して出席すること。発表担当者はA4 にして1,2枚程度のまとめをワープロ文書で準備すること。
|
|
|
|
All attendants are requested to read the alloted texts in advance. A designated student is to prepare and present a word-processed handout of one or two sheets of A4-sized paper.
|
|
|
前期の日本語の概要と併せて履修することが望ましい。
原則として日本語と他の言語の対照研究を志す学生を対象とするが，他言語専攻であっても排除しない。
初回は講義内容の説明，授業方針と講義場所の確認をするので，必ずAA研棟６階エレベーター前のラウンジに集合のこと。講義はAA研棟で行うが、部屋番号は未定のため、当日AA607号室（峰岸研究室）前に掲示する。

It is desirable to attend "Foundations of Thai-Japanese contrastive linguistics I" prior to the class. Enthusiastic students with Japanese, Thai, or other Southeast, East Asian major, with particular interest in contrastive or typological studies, are welcome. Students are requested to be present at the elevator hall on the 6th floor, ILCAA building.
