Study of Classical Literature 1
 
授業の目標   
 古代ローマ文学研究の最近の動向を把握するとともに、西洋古典文学に関する研究上の主要問題と古典テクストの分析方法について学ぶ。とくに、ローマ喜劇の諸問題について理解し、論ずることができるようになることを目標とする。
 
Goals of the course   
Understand the current trend of studies of the ancient Roman literature, and study the main issues of Western classical literature and how to analyze classical texts. Especially address Roman comedies and be able to understand and discuss the variety of issues.
 
授業の概要   
 古代ローマ文学の原典または研究書・研究論文を読み、ローマ文学研究のための基礎的知識を確認しながらテクストまたは論考を検討する。
 今回は、ローマ喜劇を取り上げ、最近の研究成果を反映させたマーシャルの研究書の前半を参照しながら、ローマ喜劇の上演の実際ついてさまざまな側面から考える。受講者の作成した要約をもとにして、随時、関連する古典作品や文献を参照しながら、論考を読み進めて内容を検討する。受講者全員が、授業で取り上げる詩と参考文献の該当箇所を予め読んでくることが必要である。
 
Overview of the course   
Read original texts or research papers of the ancient Roman literature while reviewing the basic knowledge of Roman literature studies.

In this course, look at Roman comedies which are actually performed from various aspects, referring the first half of C.W. Marchall's paper. Read and comprehend the paper based on the summary reports which students made, referring to related classical literature and materials.

成績評価の方法・基準   
 授業での発表(50%)と学期末のレポート(50%)に受講時の平常点を加味して、総合的に評価する。

 参考文献の指示した箇所を読んだ上で出席すること。

Read the assigned part of reference materials in advance.
 
履修上の注意   
 ラテン語を読めることが望ましいが、詩作品については翻訳を参照することができるので、ラテン語を習得していない者も受講可能である。
 
Notes   
Students who can read Latin are welcomed. However, this course is available to all students, as they can refer to the Japanese translation of poetry works.
