授業の目標   
1、国際協力の概念を説明できる
2、国際協力の課題を具体的に論じられるようになる
3、参加型学習を通じて、ひとりひとりが国際協力にどのようにかかわるべきかを考えられるようになる
 
Goals of the course   
This seminar offers the training for reading, writing and reporting, in order to gain the ability and knowledge to analyse own interested issues. This seminar also aims to introduce topics and theories related to international cooperation, social development and transnational sociology.
 
授業の概要   
国際協力とは国際社会の平和と安定のために、海外の国や人びとを支援することです。世界規模での環境破壊や感染症の蔓延、格差の拡大、地域紛争の深刻化が進む中、国際社会が協力して問題解決に向けた取り組みを促進することが求められています。

しかしながら一方で、途上国と呼ばれる国々の文化や社会構造への不理解から、支援が予定された効果を生まないケースは枚挙にいとまがありません。そのため、授業では参加型学習を通じて、国際的な社会問題を途上国に住む人びとの視点から学び、異文化理解を前提とした国際協力のあり方を、受講生とともに考えていきたいと思っています。
 
Overview of the course   
It has been revealed in recent years that economic growth does not necessarily bring poverty reduction in the region, and as a counter-concept social development has attracted more attention. Social development covers various fields such as education, medical care, health and hygiene, disaster prevention and the environment. At the same time, it is closely linked to development issues such as “residents’ participation in development,” the “gender gap in development,” and “socially vulnerable people”.
In this course, we will have an overview of the concept of international cooperation and discuss its issues in so-called developing countries.

成績評価の方法・基準   
試験（50%）および、毎回の小レポートと授業への参加の度合い（50%）を基に評価します。
レポートの判定基準は以下のとおりです。
1、講義内容に沿った適切な問題設定がなされている
2、設定した問題の背景を説明している
3、設定した問題に対してどのような課題がこれまで明らかになっているのかを具体的に例示できる
4、その解決策について、既存の学説がどのように述べているのかを挙げることができる
5、既存の意見を踏まえた上で、自分の考察を述べることができる
 
Grading system for assessment   
50% Exam
50% Small report at each class and class participation

The criteria for the report assessment are as follows.
1. It sets up an appropriate agenda in line with the course.
2. It explains the background of the set agenda.
3. It exemplifies the issues revealed so far in the set agenda.
4. It discusses how existing theories attempt to solve the issues.
5. Based on existing ideas, it presents its own observations.
 
事前・事後学習【要する時間の目安】   
1、授業内で指示した文献や資料を事前に読んでおくこと
2、講義に関連する新聞記事のスクラップをおこなうこと
3、授業終了時に示す課題についてレポートを作成すること
4、次回の授業範囲を予習し、専門用語の意味等の理解をしておくこと
 
Preview/review   
1 To read the literature and materials instructed in the class in advance.
2 To make clippings of newspaper articles relevant to the course.
3 To submit reports on the issues shown at the end of each class.
4 To preview the topic of the next lecture and understand the meaning of technical terms among other things.
 
履修上の注意   
本講義は、講義形式の授業を通じて社会開発への理解を深めると同時に、ワークショップ（参加型学習）を通じて、自ら考える力を養うことを目的としています。そのため、授業への積極的な参加と、ワークショップでの発言の度合いも評価の対象となります。
 
Notes   
This course aims to deepen understanding of international cooperation through lectures, and to build up students’ ability to deliberate on their own through workshops (participatory learning). Active participation in the class and remarks made at workshops are also subject to evaluation.
