To collectively learn what is really at stake in many different contemporary political settings and how actors may better achieve their respective goals.

参加する学生の興味関心を踏まえながら、下記の主題から、最新の社会科学的研究を叩き台にして、議論・探求する。

The actual materials and topics will be chosen based on what the participants are interested in and what is happening around the globe.

政治過程（デモクラシーおよび非デモクラシーにおける政治）、政治変動（例えば、民主化やその欠如）、紛争・公的抗議の政治、国内の政治変動と国際環境・対外関係との連関性などに関して、政治学および社会学の文献を批判的に読み、問題を主体的に議論・検証する。
具体的なテーマと文献は、受講者の興味に応じて準備するが、毎回、事前に配布した文献を読み、議論をする形式をとる。

当てはまる実例を思い浮かべることができなければ、理論的な議論を有意義な形で理解することができない。新聞その他を通じて、様々な争点に関する政治の日本内外における実践例を沢山見聞きしておくことが必要。
