前期と同様に、卒論演習の課題は、卒業論文を執筆することです。これまで、日本近現代の主な動向をおさえるとともに、実症的な歴史考察方法を学びました。その知識と方法を活かしながら、独自に史料と文献を収集•分析し、学問的な論文を書きます。論文の執筆に当って、次の数点について答えを求めます。①論文のテーマは明確か、論文で取り上げる課題と答えを具体的、かつ実証的につかんでいるか。②信憑性のある一次史料や文献を利用しているか。③先行研究を十分に踏まえているか、自分の研究と既存の研究蓄積との関係をきちんとおさえているか。④論点は十分、かつ正確に引き出され、実正されているか。

As in the spring semester, the goal of this course is to write an academic thesis. Until this point, students have studied the basic themes in modern and contemporary Japanese history. In addition, they have worked to develop a basic understanding of the theory and practice of empirical historical analysis. Utilizing their knowledge and analytical skills, students will select a theme, gather research materials, analyze those materials, and write a senior thesis.

When evaluating the thesis, I will look for responses to four basic questions. First, is the theme that the student has selected clear and is the analysis of that theme concrete and empirical? Second, did the student utilize trustworthy primary and secondary sources? Third, did the student sufficiently engage with the historiography and explain how his or her work relates to it? Fourth, are the arguments put forth in the thesis succinct and sufficiently supported by the evidence provided?

•成績は出席、中間報告、成果報告などで総合的に評価します。
•中間報告などは既定のフォーマットに応じて実施することになります。
•論文を提出しても、①テーマ•基本史料の紹介、②中間報告、及び③成果報告を行わない学生は、評価対象にならないので、ご注意下さい。

Students will be graded based on the presentations that they complete during the course.

•共通のテキストや参考文献ありません。
•論文提出以前に、４回以上欠席すると失格になります。
•この授業の場合には、授業外の作業が重大な意味を持つので、文献•史料の探索や解析などの作業を注意深く行って下さい。
