日本社会を歴史的に考察する卒業論文および卒業研究を作成することを目標とする。

The object of this course is to write a graduation thesis/project while enhancing the knowledge about Japanese history and society.

各人のテーマと作業の進度にあわせて必要な指導を行う。

卒業論文のテーマと構想を固め、先行研究のリサーチと文献収集および必要史料の収集を行う。そのために、毎回参加者全員が作業報告を行い、それにもとづいた指導を行う。また、文献や史料の収集が進んだ段階で、先行研究の整理と史料分析を行うために口頭報告をし、それにもとづいた指導を行う。

"Students will work over the plan of the graduation thesis, read previous studies in the field concerned, and collect necessary documents or materials. Each week all students will give a report of their progress and receive instructions.

卒業論文および卒業研究作成に向けての作業状況60％と、授業への参加態度20％、アクティブラーニング20％によって、総合的に評価する。

Students are expected to work on assignments based on individual themes of the thesis.

原則として、日本地域研究（講義）と日本地域研究（演習・吉田担当）を前年度履修していること。
アクティブラーニングは、伝統的町並みの実地研修や古文書調査により実施する。

As a general rule, students must already have completed Japanese Area Studies (Lecture) and Japanese Area Studies (Exercises, Prof. YOSHIDA Yuriko). As Active Learning, we plans to hold off-campus research to study Japanese traditional streetscape and to conduct investigations of historical documents.
