Reading and Fieldwork Methods for African Area Studies 2

食と環境の地域研究に必要な知識や情報の探し方、文献の読み解き方を身につけるとともに、論文で用いられているフィールドワークの方法論の基礎やスキルを実習を通じて学びます。

This seminar aims to develop (1) skills in finding and reading various resources including academic papers , and (2) perspective and skill for fieldwork, which are essential in African Area Studies.
|

|
地域社会の食と環境をテーマに、さまざまな専門分野（人類学、地理学、社会学、政治経済学など）でおこなわれている地域研究の動向に触れるとともに（論文講読）、さまざまな分野に応用のきくフィールドワークの考え方や方法を実践的に学びます。
|
|
|
|
We will be reading articles from different disciplines on Contemporary Africa, and learning about different perspectives, and approaches to fieldwork.

後期のゼミでは、前期に参加者が作成した調査研究計画をもとに、文献リストを作成し読み込みを進めるとともに、実際に調査研究活動を行いながら学びを深めていきます。期末レポートとして、翌年度の卒業研究のもととなるゼミ論文の完成を目指します。

Advised to read pre-distributed texts if it is assigned before each class. If there are any questions or concerns, make sure to ask during class or consult with the instructor.

参加型の授業なので、自身の問題意識を明確にする意志をもち、主体的に学習を進めることが求められる。希望や意見は恥ずかしがらずに伝えること。ゼミ形式なので、通年の授業参加が好ましい。
