This continuing course is based upon the theoretical foundations covered in the previous term’s course and will take up case studies from various development sites as it delves into Japan and Africa relations. Africa’s remarkable economic progress of recent years has kindled corporate investments and business interests. Conventional forms of international relations and assistance, such as overseas development aid, NGO activities, etc., are changing enormously. In this course, through group presentations that enable students to think critically and analytically about Africa’s situation and not be influenced by trends, students will have deeper discussions on new international relations.
