The Partition of India: Histories and Memories
|

(1) インド･パーキスターンの分離独立を通して、現代南アジアの政治構造の形成過程を理解し、論理的に表現できる。
(2) 分離独立への道程を一次資料に基づきつつ詳らかにしてゆくことで、南アジア研究における歴史資料の重要性を理解し、その利用法を習得する。
(3) インド、パーキスターン、バングラデシュにおいて、「分離独立」という歴史経験がそれぞれの地域に生きる人々にとってどの様な意味を持っているかを見い出し、考察する力を身につける。

At the end of this course, a student will be expected to be able to demonstrate:
(1) An understanding of historical experience for the people in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh; politicisation of memories on the Partition: the multifaceted narrative of national histories.
(2) An ability of utilising primary sources and records; evaluating information with the method of source criticism.
(3) An ability of analysing literary works from the perspective of cultural representation.

インド･パーキスターンの分離独立は、植民地支配からの解放という新たな時代の夜明けであると同時に、宗派間の暴力、故郷を失った難民、そしてガーンディー暗殺、印パ戦争、バングラデシュ独立という動乱の時代の始まりでした。本講義ではインド・パーキスターン分離独立論と題し、南アジアの分離独立にまつわる諸問題を考察していきます。
第1フェーズでは、1947年8月14日/15日のインド・パーキスターン分離独立に至る道程を、イギリス側、インド側、パーキスターン側の歴史資料に基づきつつ紐解きます。第2フェーズでは「分離独立」が民衆にどの様な影響を与え、またどの様に記憶されているかについて、文学や映像などを材料に学んでいきます。

In the midnight of 15 August 1947, India awoke to freedom from colonial rule, but it was simultaneously beginning of social and political upheavals accompanied with bloodshed violence. . In this course students will study how the “Partition-Independence” affected the ordinary peoples and how it was remembered.
