The goal of this course is to lay a foundation for contemplating the various issues surrounding modernity through an understanding of the modern history of Burma/Myanmar.

ビルマ/ミャンマー近代史について概説的な講義をするとともに、植民地都市社会の文脈における民族や宗教、ジェンダーといった個別のトピックについて解説し、同地域が経験した近代という時代の意味を考察する。
|
|
|
This course is an overview of the modern history of Burma/Myanmar and an explanation of the individual topics of ethnicity, religion and gender in the context of colonial society, as well as an examination of the meaning of the modernity the region has experienced in the present day.
