1991年のソ連崩壊により突如として独立することとなった中央アジア5か国は、経済体制の変換など大きな変革を被った。独立後四半世紀を経た各国の現状と、その間に浮かび上がったさまざまな問題について概略的な知識を獲得することを目標とする。

Central Asian countries that became independent by collapse of Soviet Union in 1991 have experienced political and economic changes. To understand contemporary situations of these countries and obtain basic knowledge of problems that these countries have today.

まず中央アジア諸国の概要を概観し、国際社会でこの地域がおかれている地政学的重要性、日本の外交政策、地域内での諸問題について検討する。適宜、画像や映像資料を利用しつつ、理解の助けとしたい。
|

Study the basic data (political, economic, social, geographical) of Central Asian countries, impotance of this area from the view point of geopolitics, Japanese diplomatic policies to this area.

受講時の平常点と学期末のレポートにより総合的に評価する。

The marks are given for students' efforts to join class discussion and the final term report.

中央アジア地域については日本語による参考文献が非常に少ないため、レポート作成に当たっては英語やロシア語などの文献も参照する必要があるので、積極的に意欲をもって授業に取り組む受講者を歓迎する。
第6回と第12回の授業はアクティブ・ラーニングとし、授業中に紹介する学内または学外（東洋文庫等）で開催される中央アジア関係の講演会等に参加し、その報告をまとめる。
なお、この授業は、教職課程認定上の教科に関する科目（中学校 社会）の「世界史」に該当する。
