授業の目標   
中央アジア地域研究には、古代からのダイナミックな歴史の展開と構造を理解することが不可欠である。この授業は、最新の研究成果をふまえて中央アジア史を概観し、現代の中央アジアがどのようにして成立したのかを考えることを目標とする。
 
Goals of the course   
For Central Asian area studies it is required to learn the historical development and structure. This course aims to present the overview of the premodern history of Central Asia, and consider the formation of contemporary Central Asia.
 
授業の概要   
前期は、中央アジアの古代から19世紀まで、すなわち帝政ロシアがこの地域を併合、征服するまでの前近代の歴史を概観する。
 
Overview of the course   
In the spring term the premodern history of Central Asia, from the ancient period to the Russian conquest in the 19th century, is to be considered.

Preview/review   
Students are required to read reference books before attending every class. In order to obtain better understanding of Central Asian history students are encouraged to attend in both spring and fall terms.
 
履修上の注意   
現代に至る中央アジア史の展開を理解するには前期（I）と後期（II）を通年で履修することが望ましい。
