Seminar in Classical Literature for Graduation Thesis 1
 
授業の目標   
 古代ギリシア・ローマ文学の分野において、研究・調査の方法を身につけ、卒業論文または卒業研究の完成に至ることを目標とする。
 
Goals of the course   
The students will aim to complete their graduation theses or graduation research by learning the methods for research and examination in the areas of ancient Greek and Roman literature.
 
授業の概要   
 卒業論文または卒業研究を作成しようとする学生を対象に、完成に至るまで個別指導を行なう。演習形式は受講者と相談の上テーマに応じて決めるが、一般的には、受講者による研究テーマに関する発表、および卒業論文または卒業研究作成の経過報告と、その検討を中心とする。
 
Overview of the course   
The teacher will provide students writing a graduation thesis or conducting graduation research with individual guidance up to its completion. The format of the exercise will be determined by consulting with the students. However, it has typically been based on literature surveys and presentations by the students, and progress reports on thesis writing and research.

成績評価の方法・基準   
 演習での発表(60%)と論文または研究の内容(40%)によって総合的に評価する。
 
Grading system for assessment   
Comprehensive grading based on in-class presentations (60%) and the contents of thesis or research (40%).
 
事前・事後学習【要する時間の目安】   
 あらかじめ指示した参考文献を読んでおくこと。
 
Preview/review   
Read the designated reference books prior to classes.
 
履修上の注意   
 ・原則として第3年次に「西洋古典文学演習」を履修済みであること。
 ・古代ギリシアおよびローマ時代であれば、歴史、哲学、美術の分野のテーマでも指導できる場合もある。これらの分野については指導可能かどうか予め相談すること。
 
Notes   
・As a general rule, students must have completed “Seminar in Classical Literature” in their third year.
・The instructor can give guidance in areas of Greek and Roman history, philosophy and art. Students wishing to write theses in those areas should consult with the instructor prior to registering for this course.
