授業の目標   
前学期に引き続き、ベンガル人知識人によるベンガル文学史および文化論を読むことを通じて、近現代のベンガル文学および文化の流れと特質を把握することを目標とする。学期の後半には各自のテーマを設定して各々テクストを選び、それについて発表してもらう。
 
Goals of the course   
This class is for those students who will write graduation theses on Bengali literature or culture. Before actually setting about each work of graduation thesis, students must survey basic proceding studies on Bengali culture and history. This course aims at grasping the features of Bengali culture through reading some of the classical works of Bengali scholars.
 
授業の概要   
ロビンドロナト・タクル（タゴール）のほか、アブ・サイード・アユーブ、ブッドデブ・ボシュなどの優れた知識人による文芸評論や文化論を概観する。必要に応じて美術や音楽、あるいは舞台芸術に関する文献も扱う。
 
Overview of the course   
We are going to survey the works of Rabindranath Tagore, Abu Sayeed Ayyub and Buddhadeva Bosu in this term.Students must look over some source materials and make presentations.

ベンガル語圏の文学、文化関連で卒業論文および卒業研究を予定しているものは必ず受講すること。ベンガル語専攻以外の学生に関しては、語学力に応じて個別に対応する。
 
Notes   
Those student who will write graduation theses on Bengali literature and culture must participate this class. A certain level of Bengali reading skill is required.
