南アジア近現代史の諸問題をグローバル化社会の中に位置づけるための知識と構想力を高める。具体的には、演習参加者の関心に従って、関連する論文・研究書を輪読し、議論する。議論への主体的な参加を通して、理念的な構想力、問題点を抽出する能力を鍛えることを目指す。論文執筆に必要な技法を学ぶ。

To enlarge and deepen the knowledge concerning various aspects of contemporary South Asia.

Participants report on the subject of their own interest followed by the discussion.

基本的に参加者個々人が関心のあるテーマに従って報告する。報告担当者以外の参加者も、扱うテーマに関する文献を事前に目を通しておくことが原則。参加者によっては、共通の関心に対応した研究書を輪読することもある。合宿を行い、各人の研究の到達点を確認する。

At each class one of the participants is to report on the subject of their own interest. Other members are encouraged to join the discussion. Over night study tour shall be conducted.

Each participant are required to attend the class after reading the articles/books which are are supposed to be discussed.
