Community Interpreting Practicum A
 
授業の目標   
多言語・多文化社会におけるコミュニティ通訳の役割について理解を深めつつ、実際に通訳にあたるうえで必要な日本社会の制度面を中心とした背景知識、および基本的な通訳技法の習得を目指す。
 
Goals of the course   
The aim of this class is to learn fundamental interpreting skills and basic knowledge on the system side of the Japanese society, while at the same time deepening the understanding of the role of community interpreters.
 
授業の概要   
サイトトランスレーションや逐次通訳を中心に、さまざまな日本語・英語間の通訳演習を行う。コミュニティ通訳の専門領域である相談、司法、医療、行政、教育の各現場でみられるテーマを素材に用いることで、通訳技法とともに、背景知識の強化も図る。
 
Overview of the course   
The participants are expected to perform sight translation and consecutive interpretation between Japanese and English. Topics cover the fields of consultation, legal, medical, administrative, and education interpreting.

成績評価の方法・基準   
毎回のフィードバックメール（25%）、授業内パフォーマンス（25％）、期末時に課す最終課題（50%）などにより授業目標の達成度を評価する。

事前・事後学習【要する時間の目安】   
事前に与えられるテーマ等についてあらかじめ準備を行い、疑問点を授業中に質問できるように心がけること。

The participants are required to prepare thoroughly for each task and assignment.
 
履修上の注意   
履修者の確認のほか、選抜試験を行う可能性があるため、第1回目の授業には必ず出席すること。
教員の指示にしたがって、受講前の予習と授業後の復習を行うこと。
 
Notes   
The students wishing to take this class must attend the first class in order sit for screening.
Extensive preparation and self-reflection are necessary.
