Title（English）   
Analysing Learner Language Using Corpora: Applications in Materials Design and Development
 
授業の目標   
コーパス言語学の基礎的概念の習得とその応用分野としての CEFR 準拠の学習者データのコーパス分析の概要を知る。
 
Goals of the course   
(1) become familiar with the basic concepts of corpus compilation and corpus use
(2) consider their own strategies for using corpora for language study and language learning
(3) be exposed to various related fields in the application of corpora in applied linguistics
(4) become familiar with the analytical techniques of corpus-based studies
 
授業の概要   
コーパス言語学の基礎概念をテキストを購読しながら学ぶと同時に，コーパス処理の基礎を習得する。テキストを用いた専門知識の理解と Sketch Engine というコーパス検索システムの使用法に習熟する。
 
Overview of the course   
This course is designed as an introduction to the field of corpus application in applied linguistics. The participants will be able to demonstrate the basic knowledge of corpus linguistics as well as the use of corpora in applied linguistics.

テキストの分担箇所のレポート２５％、コーパス検索の演習２５％、コーパス検索に関するテスト２５％、夏合宿でのテーマ検討２５％

事前・事後学習【要する時間の目安】   
テキストは英語なので毎回指定した章の予習をして質問事項を整理しておくこと。

履修上の注意   
プログラミングの知識は不要だが，コンピューターを多用するので馴れが必要。時間外の作業が多少なりともあるので，準備をきちんとすること。対象となる外国語は問わないが，主として英語の例を示す。
 
Notes   
1) It is assumed that students will have the English skills necessary to read papers written in English.
2) Students must actively participate in presentations and discussions.
