言語政策とはなにか、言語政策はコミュニティの言語のありかたや人々の言語使用にどのような影響を及ぼすのかを理解し、言語政策に関する諸問題について考察することができる。

Participants are inteded to understand what is langugae policy and how language policies affect langugaes in community and the use of langugaes in various contexts. Participants will further discuss topics concerning langugae policy and language education.

言語政策に関して、その基礎となる社会言語学の考え方を学び、さらにいくつかの事例からの検討をとおして、言語政策とコミュニティおよび言語と教育に関する理解を深める。

Participants will be guided to sociolinguicts and study langugae policy and community by examining examples including Ireland and Japan.

評価方法：試験とアクティブ・ラーニングおよび授業における貢献に基づいて成績評価を行う。配点は、試験(60%)、アクティブ・ラーニング(20%)、授業における貢献(20%)とする。

The grade will be given based on the end-term examination (60%), active learning (20%) and class contribution (20%).

授業で得た知識や考えを整理しておくなど、自分の関心に応じて各自工夫して学習する。

Participants will proceed with their study on the course topics on their own, for example by making a summary of the letcture and by stimulating their resarch inquiries.
