Title（English）   
Linguistic Typology for Description of Languages
 
授業の目標   
言語の系統のゆえではなく、タイプ（＝類型）のゆえに似たり、異なったりする諸言語を研究する言語類型論の成果を踏まえ、また一般言語学の成果を踏まえ、ゼミ生は自身の専攻語あるいは特に興味を持つ１言語に関して、ゼミ全体の共通のテーマにそって考察を深める。
 
Goals of the course   
Setting aside the genealogy of languages, you are expected to look into one language you are majoring in or are interested in through the perspectives of typology (a study that seeks to understand the essence of languages through typification) and general linguistics.
 
授業の概要   
一般言語学や言語類型論の視点から、いくつかの文法的現象を取り上げ、受講者は専攻語あるいはそのほかに選んだ１言語に照らし合わせ、発表およびレポート提出する。取り上げる可能性のあるトピックを以下に挙げるが、受講者の興味に応じて大幅に入れ替わる可能性がある。形態論、品詞論、非孤立語の中の孤立性、ボイス・他動性、アスペクト、テーマ・レーマ他。
 
Overview of the course   
Through the perspectives of typology and general linguistic, you will look into the language you have selected along the topics on grammar and make a presentation or submit a report on that language. Topics include Morphology, Accidence, Isolation within non-isolated languge, Voice, Transitive verb, Aspect, Thema-Rhema, etc.

出席、参加、発表、レポート等により、総合評価する。
 
Grading system for assessment   
Class participation, positive attitude, and reports are evaluated as a whole.

履修上の注意   
言語学概論か、それに類する授業を既習か、同時履修していること。その他、言語学・音声学系専修科目の既習・同時履修も望ましい。また、旧年中に登録希望せず、サブゼミとして履修する者も歓迎する。また、上記シラバスの範囲外の言語に関する様々な問題を「卒論」で扱いたい学生も、この１年は「文法」の話についてきてもらわないと行けないが歓迎する。
 
Notes   
Students should have studied or should be studying a introductory course in linguistics or similar courses. Also, they are expected to have learned or to be learning phonetic or other similar studies. Students who wish to learn this course as a sub-seminar or as for reference purposes for their graduation theses without any background are also welcomed, however, they must study grammar hard to keep up with the class.
