Phonetic Training for Teaching Japanese to Speakers of Other Languages

日本語教育の現場において、学習者が行う音声学習,それに対応するための音声指導に関する考察を深める。特に,音声を教える前・教える時の教師の役割や学習者の心構えなどについても受講者は考察し,「音声を教える」「音声を学ぶ」とはどういうことか考察する。また,上記の内容を考えるうえで前提となる,日本語の音声そのものについての知識も習得する。

To think about what it means to teach and learn speech sounds, considering roles of teachers before/when teaching speech sounds and learners' preparedness for studying speech sounds. Also to acquire knowledge of Japanese sounds itself as a prerequisite for learning the above.

まず,初回の授業で音声を教える前に教師が考えることについてディスカッション・考察して自分の考えを整理し,ミニレポートを執筆する。その後,日本語の音声について単音,リズム,アクセント,イントネーションの順に学習していく。その後,音声を教える際の教師の役割や学習者の心構えについてディスカッション・考察して自分の考えを整理し,ミニレポートを執筆する。最終的には,音声学習・音声指導について教師が考えることや学習者が考えることについて,実際の教師や学習者にインタビューを行った上で,内容をまとめ,発表する。

Think about what teachers should consider before teaching speech sounds, then write a short report in the first class. Next, acquire basic knowledge of single tone, rhythm, accent and intonation of Japanese sounds. Finally, think about roles of teachers when teaching speech sounds as well as learners' preparedness, write up a short report, interview school teachers/learners, and make presentations.
