学生諸君がこれまでの言語学習の中で慣れ親しんで来、また一般に「文法」と言った場合に指し示される規範文法をひとまず横に置き、一般言語学の成果に基づいた記述文法を、常に変化し続ける生きた言語の中から掘り起こし、むずから書くことへの入門を講義する。

Setting aside the normative grammar you are familiar with through your linguistic studies, this course will encourage you to discover the rules of descriptive grammar in a law language that is evolving continuously and describe it by yourself.

言語とその部分の関係、つまり文法記述に必要な、下位分野、言語と言語の関係の研究、言語とそれ以外の分野との関係の研究を概説する。文法範疇、統語論、FSP、言語類型論、比較歴史言語学、範疇化・命名、横断的範疇などを扱う

This course provides an overview of studies on subfields needed for grammar description, including studies on relations between languages, and relations between a language and other fields. This course explains grammatical category, syntax, FSP, typology, comparative philology, categorization/naming, cross-sectional category.

言語学関係の科目を既習である必要はない。なお、少数民族諸言語の例や、手話諸言語の例も取り上げるので、拒否感を持たないでおいて欲しいが、それらの知識を前もって持っている必要は無い。なお、秋季・春季の同時間・同講義題目の授業を継続して受講すること。

No study experience on linguistic subjects is required. Learners of this course should be ready to study on languages of minority races and sign languages, however no prior knowledge is required. Be sure to take both courses in spring and autumn semesters respectively held with the same name and on the same time period.
