Interactive English: Reception
To improve listening, reading, researching and note-taking skills, and to become able to understand and discuss more complex ideas in English.
Students will create Language Learning Portfolios that record their learning progress. Each week, students will practice note-taking, researching, summarizing and expressing opinions about a topic introduced in class. Topics will include current events and research about students’ major language countries and cultures. Language input will include reading, listening and watching, and will come from news sites and other websites appropriate for the students’ levels. During class, we will discuss the topics and also have language tutorial sessions to focus on improving vocabulary, and listening/reading, note-taking and summarizing skills. The Language Learning Portfolios will provide both formative and summative assessment.
