Interactive English: Production

The objective of this class is to further develop the students' skills to write and speak English. In particular, emphasis will be placed on writing formal multiple-paragraph essays, speaking more fluently about practical topics, and giving short presentations. To achieve this goal, students will practice writing essays that are coherent and unified, edit and correct essays, and take part in group discussions, etc.

The course places emphasis on writing multiple-paragraph essays, participating in group discussions, and giving short presentations. Other activities may be added to suit the students. The following class plan may be altered depending on the progress of the students. There will be weekly assignments.

Students will be graded comprehensively for their active class participation (20%), written assignments (10%), presentation (20%), term paper (40%), and ELC assignments (10%).

Students must do their weekly assignments, read handouts, check the meaning and pronunciation of unfamiliar words, review the notes from the previous week, and work on the ELC assignments.
|

|
|
The use of Japanese is not allowed in class. Students must participate actively in class and take notes. They must come to class prepared.
