Interactive English: Production
|

|
|
The goal of this course is to help you improve your English speaking and writing abilities by examining and critically evaluating various global issues. You will learn to clearly express your opinions on topics and challenge opposing opinions through in-class discussions. You will also practice giving presentations in groups or individually on a regular basis. Finally, you will practice writing in English in order to support and improve the quality of your presentations.

Throughout the semester we will focus on one particular topic, such as conservation, health/innovations, sociology/technology, for a 3-week period. You will watch videos and have discussions in class to gain deeper incite into this topic. You will then demonstrate your understanding of the topic through a presentation or submitting a piece of writing.

*Note: Your “Participation score" will be based on the quality of your in-class performance, including how often you speak in class, how prepared you are for each class, etc. This grade is not based on your attendance in the class.
Missing more than four (4) classes in one semester will result in a failing grade for that semester. Three (3) lates will be equivalent to one (1) absence. More than 45 minutes late will equal one (1) absence.
