This course is designed to improve students' speaking and writing skills. At the end of the course, students will become able to express their opinions with confidence in group discussion and presentation. They will also learn to summarize articles and write short coherent articles.
|

|
Students will practice small talks, report news, retell articles, discuss within groups, make presentations, debate, and make speech in class. They will write paragraphs and short articles about their own experience and their opinions related to cultural differences between America and Japan.

|
|
|
|
|
(participation in class: 40%, speaking and writing assignment: 40%, final exams: 20%)×90%; ELC: 10%.

|
Before class, students must complete various speaking and writing assignments.
|
|
|
|
To obtain the full benefits of the course, the students are encouraged to actively participate in all class activities.
