In this class you will gain the confidence to read, write, and talk about a range of general topics relevant to today’s world, working as part of a group, which you will also lead on various occasions. You will express you own opinions as well as taking those of others into consideration to deliver thoughtful, balanced presentations on specific topics of your choice.

Students should spend at least 30-60 minutes on exercises given by the teacher. Students will also keep a regular podcast journal to be discussed in class as well as listen to English in various media freely available on the Internet.

Students may not use any digital device for personal reasons. However, on occasions the instructor may allow you to use mobile phones for access to online dictionaries and for research. In preparation for group presentations only, students should bring laptop computers and be familiar with PowerPoint if possible.
