授業の目標   
ビルマ語で書かれたさまざまなジャンルの文章の講読通じて、ミャンマーの文化や社会、歴史について理解を深めることを目指します。卒業論文執筆の際に、新聞や書籍、政府発行の資料等を用いることができるレベルに到達することを目標とします。
 
Goals of the course   
To acquire and develop the Burmese reading skills and knowledge on Myanmar culture and history.
 
授業の概要   
ビルマ語文献・資料の読解を行い、文法と背景知識の解説をする。読解力強化のために、適宜、リスニング教材も用いる。

今学期は、ミャンマーの民族に関する記事、資料を中心に講読する。具体的には、2017年春に発表予定の国勢調査（民族別）の報告書や、2016年に開催された21世紀パンロン会議に関する資料を扱う予定である。
 
Overview of the course   
This course is designed for Japanese learning Burmese (Myanmar Language) and Upper-intermediate level to acquire and develop the Burmese reading skills and knowledge on Myanmar culture and history.

成績評価の方法・基準   
受講時の平常点（40％）、学期末試験の成績（60％）によって総合評価します。

Active level of participation 40%, Examination 60%
 
事前・事後学習【要する時間の目安】   
・予習は必須です。まずは、辞書を使わずに、文章全体を読んで内容を把握しましょう。その後、分からない単語や発音は、辞書で調べておきましょう。
・復習も重要です。学習した文章を何度も読み返し、語彙力を増やしましょう。音声教材も配布しますので、何度も聞いて語彙力とリスニング力を強化しましょう。
