授業の目標   
アフリカに関する研究書、雑誌論文、新聞記事を購読し、得られた情報をまとめ、発信するのに必要な英語力の向上を目指す。
 
Goals of the course   
The main objective of this course is to improve reading ability in English for African Area Studies.
 
授業の概要   
今年度秋期は、現代アフリカ農村の日常生活について、人類学者によって採録された地域住民の語りを英語で読む。具体的には、Bonnie Hewlett著、"Listen, Here Is a Story: Ethnographic Life Narratives from Aka and Ngandu Women of the Congo Basin"を取り上げ、関連雑誌記事や映画の鑑賞を交えながら、アフリカ地域研究に必要な英語力を養う。
 
Overview of the course   
Students will develop their understanding on livelihoods and social life in rural Africa more deeply by reading Bonnie Hewlett's ethnography, "Listen, Here Is a Story: Ethnographic Life Narratives from Aka and Ngandu Women of the Congo Basin".
