English II: Production (Speaking)

The aim of this course is to practice and improve your English speaking ability through task-based group projects and in class discussions. In this class you will have many opportunities to speak and share your opinions on topics such as education, the environment, culture, etc. in order to build your oral fluency in English.
|

|
|
In this class you will study a particular topic via a task-based group project. This project will take several weeks to complete and you will need to work both inside and outside of the classroom in order to complete it. In addition to working on your projects, you we be provided with reading assignments that will further your understanding of the topic. In class you will be asked to discuss and critically evaluate the topic in the form of a group discussion with your classmates.

*Note: Your “Participation score" will be based on the quality of your in-class performance, including how often you speak in class, how prepared you are for each class, etc. This grade is not based on your attendance in the class.
Missing more than four (4) classes in one semester will result in a failing grade for that semester. Three (3) lates will be equivalent to one (1) absence. More than 45 minutes late will equal one (1) absence.
