This course is aimed at opening up students to writing creatively in English in a variety of formats whilst learning the various techniques, especially regarding fiction.

Students will study various examples of short stories, novel extracts, film sequences, plays, poetry, life writing, and travel writing, although the emphasis will be on prose fiction.

20% class participation and attitude; 30% for homework assignments: 50% mid-term and final written assignments.

Students will be asked to read examples of different genres and other materials; students will also keep a regular journal to stimulate creative thought.
