授業の概要

Overview of the course
This course will provide students theoretical and pedagogical backgrounds on how a second or foreign language is acquired. We will overview child and adult second language acquisition in general, focusing on 1) learner language, 2) linguistic, psychological, and social aspects, 3) interactional aspects, 4) contexts of language learning, and 5) individual differences. Our discussion will also include instructed second language acquisition. Students will be expected to choose their own area of interest, and do a comprehensive review of literature with their preparation for an MA thesis or Ph.D. dissertation in mind.
