Goals of the course   
1. Students will learn to raise crucial questions and understand evidence-based research and theoretical explanations of human violence and group conflict.
2. Students will develop their problem identification skills, critical thinking, case analysis, collaboration, creativity and research skills.

Overview of the course   
This course introduces and critically examines the roots and dynamics of group conflict from a framework informed by theories and research from two social sciences, namely, psychology and anthropology.

Preview/review   
Students are expected to come to class having read all the assigned readings and prepared to engage in an interactive learning experience. Group discussions, videos, readings, case analyses and student presentations will also be employed to facilitate and enhance the learning experience. The key feature of the course is that it follows a student-centered and inquiry-based format; thus, your informed and full participation in class discussions is a must.
