Goals of the course   
1. To sensitize the students to significant psychological and socio-political complexities involved in working with post-war communities
2. To enhance their theoretical and research knowledge about psychosocial work and peacebuilding in post-conflict situations
3. To develop their critical thinking and analytical skills

Overview of the course   
This course introduces and examines the complex dynamics of peacebuilding and psychosocial work in conflict and post-conflict situations from a critical psychological perspective in order to guide students to learn and raise questions about theories, approaches and practices of peacebuilding and psychosocial work.

Preview/review   
Students are expected to come to class having read all the assigned readings and prepared to engage in an interactive learning experience. Classes start with a thought-provoking question or case study and a group discussion, followed by an interactive lecture. Discussions, videos, readings, case analyses and student presentations will also be employed to facilitate and enhance the learning experience. Given the course follows a student-centered and inquiry-based format, students’ informed and full participation in class discussions is a must.
