【Mainly for HIPS/Open for TUFS Students】Practitioner's Workshop "Landscape and Catastrophe: Exploring the Urban Environment"

授業の目標

Goals of the course
The theme of the Summer Intensive is the intersection of architecture and democracy, and we will discuss issues such as the relationship between public space and architecture in modern cities, and how our lives are connected to particular environments. We will also explore the historical significance of design, the multiple meanings of the creation of memorials and monuments, the connection between art and public consciousness, and the potential of architecture as a means of political consciousness building. In particular, we will reflect on the catastrophes that we may face in the future and how to deal with the harsh realities in order to transform them.
