Interpretation Studies
 
授業の目標   
通訳の実務能力を養う上で必要な理論研究を行い、言語・文化・社会の観点から総合的におもに通訳の研究を行う能力を養成することを目標とします。そしてそのために必要な通訳理論や研究手法を受講生の関心やニーズに合わせて学んでゆきます。
 
Goals of the course   
The goal of this class is to learn theoretical aspects of interpreting in order to enhance abilities to comprehensively analyze interpreting practices in terms of language, culture and society.
 
授業の概要   
訳出という行為について共に考えながら思考を深めます。また研究が何か、さらに通訳研究とは何かということに関して理解を深め、修士論文につながるような研究手法を学びます。さらに研究課題の参考となるようなさまざまな研究も紹介します。
 
Overview of the course   
We deepen our understanding of interpreting acts in the class. In the course, we learn what research is, specifically, interpreting research and research methods that will help us write an MA thesis. Also, previous studies that might inspire the students’ research questions will be introduced in the lectures.

Grading system for assessment   
Participation in the class, presentation and a term report are evaluated.
 
事前・事後学習【要する時間の目安】   
コース中に論文を読んで、それについて発表する課題があります。またコース終了後に関連する論文を読み、それをまとめる課題があります。早い時期から論文に目を通すことをお勧めします。『通訳翻訳研究』『通訳翻訳研究への招待』をご参照ください。それ以外のジャーナルも参考にしてください。また論文発表の際には、通訳訓練もいたします。
 
Preview/review   
Assignments will be provided after the course. You are encouraged to look for some relevant papers to your research even before the course begins.
 
履修上の注意   
・本講義は通訳演習そのものとは異なり、自ら通訳する場合にも、通訳結果を分析し受講生同士で講評し合うことに主眼を置きます。このような趣旨から、受講生同士のインタラクションを重視します。また、受講生独自の思考を重んじ、受講生の関心の所在に合わせて、随時講義内容を決定してゆくこととします。
・クラスでの議論は基本的に日本語を使用します。著書、論文の講読は英語と日本語が主要言語です。したがって、英語と日本語で翻訳に関する専門書がある程度読める実力が必要です。
