授業の目標   
 
Goals of the course   
This course aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of L2 speaking by exploring its dynamic nature, assessment methods, and integration with other skills. It covers strategies for improving speaking proficiency, interactional competence, and ELF communication while incorporating critical thinking, corpus-based insights, and syllabus design for effective instruction in oral interaction.
 
授業の概要   
 
Overview of the course   
This is a project-based course taught by specialists in TEFL and related disciplines. Each lesson will be taught by a different teacher, focusing on L2 Speaking from various perspectives. Students will listen to a lecture and then discuss how theoretical frameworks and findings from empirical research can be practically applied to the teaching and learning of L2 speaking.

成績評価の方法・基準   
 
Grading system for assessment   
Each lecturer will assign a task (e.g. review quiz, short reflection essay, etc.) per lesson. Course grades will be based on active participation and performance in class discussions (which are prerequisites to earning credits) and the total score of all the tasks.

Follow the instructions from each lecturer regarding preview and/or review of lessons.

本科目は、東京外国語大学・筑波大学・上智大学の大学院連携事業である「英語教育学イニシアティヴ・プログラム」(TEFL-IP)の一環として開講されるオムニバス形式の集中講義です。東京外国語大学の大学院生で、英語教育学専攻ではない者が履修を希望する場合は、事前にTEFL-IP事務室 <tefl-ip@tufs.ac.jp> まで連絡して了承を得てください。【集中講義日程:8月18日~22日、各日10:40-16:20(オンライン)】
